TATTOO AFTERCARE

Congratulations!

You got your very own tattoo. If this is your first one, read carefully now, because it won't be your last.

Even after the healing process it is important to take care of your tattoos.

Here are some general tips for life-long lasting tattoos:

† Hydrate: Water is good for your skin and tattoo. Moisturize often.

Hygiene: Keep tattoo clean to avoid infections. Respect the healing process.

Sunscreen: Exposure to sunlight will fade your tattoo over the years. After healing, apply factor 45+ generously.

† No risks: If you notice something strange or have any questions about your tattoo, just contact me.

It's just a flesh wound...

Caring for your tattoo can prevent complications and ensure that the tattoo heals properly. Both you and me play equal roles in this process. I will make sure to keep it clean and professional during the session - you need to take good care of your tattoo at home.

To achieve the best colours and longer-living tattoos, good tattoo care is essential. You will be gifted a flacon of vegan Balm Tattoo to help you on your way.

And if you need a guide for the next few weeks after the session. All the information is here:

Aftercare instructions:

You will leave the shop wrapped in a second skin tattoo bandage. The bandage will catch any leaking blood plasma and excess ink. It also acts as a barrier for your clothes, and more importantly, bacteria.

Remove the plastic wrap 3 days after the session, unless told otherwise, then:

With clean hands, gently wash the tattoo with water and fragrance-free soap. Pat your skin dry with a soft cloth.

Coat your tattoo with the Balm tattoo  ointment. You can keep the covering off at this point to let your skin breathe.

Repeat this process 2-3 times a day during the first week after the session. Try to keep your skin greasy, while not applying the layer of ointment too thick.

Untill the tattoo is fully healed you should avoid soaking in water. Don't go swimming, to the sauna or anything alike. Taking a shower is fine.

If you want to wear clothes over a healing, you can cover it with plastic wrap to avoid irritation of the skin. Ideally though, leave it uncovered, as oxygen will help to heal the wound.

Do protect your tattoo from the sun at all times.

DO NOT:

Go swimming or soak your body in water.

(Taking a shower is fine)

Scratch at or peel off parts of healing skin.

Wear tight clothing over your tattoo.

Use sunblock untill fully healed.
